Matrix, the late-night lounge at 1045 Franklin Street in downtown Napa, revives the name of the 1965 San Francisco club co-founded by Jefferson Airplane’s Marty Balin. Owners Dante Javar and John Truchard opened it in September 2026 in 1,800 square feet designed by Honeycomb Home Design, the studio’s first hospitality project in Napa, and built by C R Briskovich Design.Build. Arched thresholds, oxblood velvet, layered chandeliers and warm brass lead from a lit bar into the lounge and on through red neon passages. Featured in Hospitality Snapshots, with the opening covered by Hoodline and the Napa Valley Register.
